Board of Directors: Recent Changes
The Board of Directors has seen some changes during the last few months. We were sad to see the departure of two of our board members this year.
In the summer, Graham Vooren resigned from the board in order to pursue a career in the military. Recently, Steve Uger resigned as he has accepted a position out of town working with Katimavik, Canada's leading national youth volunteer-service program and an organization that Bear Your Heart has worked with since 2005.
We also have two new board members. Joanne Martin, who has been involved with Bear Your Heart since it's inception has finally joined the board in an official capacity. Steve Furgiuele, who has been involved with Bear Your Heart since 2004 recently joined the board as well.
We are excited with the addition of these two members and are looking forward to planning our 4th Annual Christmas Day Dinner!
And remember, we are still actively recruiting for new board members and volunteers. In addition, we are always open to partnership opportunities. Contact us, if you have any questions, suggestions or comments!

The Scrap Yarn Project Supports Bear Your Heart for 2008
The Scrap Yarn Project is a local initiative started by Bonnie McBride to encourage people to use their old yarn, cloth and thread. The Scrap Yarn Project selected Bear Your Heart as the recipient of their donations and plan on donating hats, mitts and scarves so that they can be handed out to children and families during the 2008 Christmas season.
The Scrap Yarn
Project is quickly morphing into a unique "green project" as it
encourages people to find unique ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. For
more information on this great project, please go to the website: The
